Utopia Series

TMA announces their newest Utopia loudspeakerseries. The TMA Utopia series incorporates several new innovative design techniques that greatly improve performance in a small, two-way, floor-standing loudspeaker. The Utopia series delivers a much purer and more open upper midrange response coupled with a sweeter and smoother high frequency performance than conventional two-way models. The new serie also offers a very high 91 dB efficiency to work well with lower amounts of amplifier power.

Much of the Utopia's outstanding performance is the result of its new high output, the high efficiency ribbon tweeter and the innovative woofer diaphragm/voice coil design. The woofer incorporate short coil/long gap, copper stabilized motor systems to greatly reduce distortion, employ metal diaphragms for very uniform frequency response and clarity, and use long excursion motor systems for high output capability.

The Ribbon aluminum belt tweeter has absolutely no equal in high frequency sound reproduction. With its wave shape, the Ribbon Driver speakers presents your music as you would have heard it when it was recorded. Subtle information which supports the detail of timbre and accuracy of the image are reproduced with such ease by your amplifier that you'll find yourself hearing details in your music you never heard before.

Achieving excellent upper midrange performance presents one of the greatest challenges in a two-way speaker configuration. One of our solutions for improving the Utopia's upper midrange response is the design of the new woofer's diaphragm and voice coil. The 7-inch woofer employs an unusually largevoice coil. With the coil nearer the outer edge of the cone, the large diameter allows the force from the voice coil to be distributed over a three-fold greater area of the cone rather than being concentrated at the center of the cone. The result is a much stiffer diaphragm that moves unwanted resonances to a much higher frequency for greatly improved upper midrange performance.
